It’s been busy week. I’ve been fine tuning some of the time management techniques and done some preparations and planning for an office update, which is scheduled for this weekend. Basically I’m going to rebuild my office from scratch. Also I’ll reinstall Windows in my work system. Here’s few 3D designs (made with SketchUp and Kerkythea) of the new office layout:
About the new CE snapshot, I added QuickView tab. It works just like text editor tab does but for images and videos. Currently loading larger images can be a bit slow but I’ll optimize that next week. Also I’ll have to add an ability to zoom and scroll images. Controls to show next and previous images would be also nice. Middle click or Alt+Left click over image, video or audio opens the file in QuickView tab.

How do you activate QuickView for a tab page?
I can’t find it in anywhere.
The office prototypes look nice.
Hope you can keep it so clean and open after you build it. I can never achieve such a thing with my room.

i think you could use a modified version of the “duplicate tab” icon with the arrow painted in red for the “close tabs on right” and another one with inverted direction of the arrow for the “close tab on the left”
i don’t have ideas for the “close other tabs” icon…

- It will be some time until I’ll start to add more advanced features like that into the video player. Until then, you can use filter like DirectVobSub to enable external subtitles in CE.
- Saving settings per folder is not available at the moment but is on todo list.
- Using custom folder icons may be possible with some 3rd party shell extension. CE it self doesn’t have that capability, yet.

Ah, good idea. I’ll see if I can fit that in 16×16 pixels.
It’s seem kinda hard you will manage to do it with just 16 x 16 pixels.
What about modifying again the “duplicate tab” icon?
Just paint in red the top arrow which points toward your right, then and an additional red arrow pointing towards your left on the bottom of the folder icon.

That’s a pretty rad desk. Can you give a model number or manufacturer for it?
It’s made from 4 different shape pieces, not sure about model numbers. Manufacturer is Martela.

First of all – great product! I’ve been using it a while now and always checking the website for updates… Many thanks!!
However, I’ve noticed a problem with displaying icons in the “Details” view mode. On a normal Windows setup (I have XP) the icon size in the Details view is 16×16 but I have changed mine to be 32×32 because I have a high res monitor and I find it easier on the eyes.
This causes a problem in CE as it displays the icons as 32×32 but still uses a row height of 16, thus meaning all the icons are cropped…
It’d be good if this could be resolved

A fast response and thanks for looking at this….
To change the icon size you’ll have to have a bit of a hack around your Windows registry….
First of all, if you use the Registry Editor and navigate to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics
You’ll then need to add a new String Value called “Shell Small Icon Size” if it doesn’t already exist (Without the quotes).
Change the value of the Shell Small Icon Size entry to be whatever icon size you want (If the entry does not exist Windows assumes a size of 16) — I have mine set to 32.
You will need to log off and back on again for the change to take affect….

Martin, try the new release. If you update instead of fresh install, you’ll have to remove all CellSizes from settings.xml. Or you can just delete that file and CE will create a new fresh one.
