Not that productive this week. I’ve still been occupied by other stuff but I did manage to do little work with CE. Still no sessions though, sorry. Also the todo list needs to be rearranged. However, this snapshot is more useful than the previous one. The keyboard bug is fixed which was also affecting the advanced settings editor. I added AutoFit and few other options to tabs. Those can be found in the advanced settings.
Anyway, I’m hoping to have sessions up and running next week. The reason why it’s taking so long is the fact that I’m rewriting the sessions support from scratch. Also I’ll try to sort the todo list. It’s quite a nasty job so I’m not really looking forward to it.
Change Log
- Added AutoFit tabs, MaxTabSize and CloseButton settings.
- Removed old bug fix.
- Fixed icon size bug (again).
- Fixed memory leaks.
- Fixed keyboard bug.

Hi Marko !
The problem of CE in Windows 7 is when I group by type, name, etc. the change in window is correct but if I chage mi directory the changes are not saved, when I enter to the folder presents icon in tile format.
Great weekend !
@JL Henry
Does that happen every time you change folder?
CE uses different view style settings for Folders, My Computer, Network Places and Control Panel. So if you for example go to My Computer from normal folder, view style might change because they use different settings.
I have Windows 7 (64 bit) in my laptop and CE seems to work fine. Or maybe I missed what you meant.
It has some kind of a display problem. If you hide all the toolbars and change the theme to default, thereafter there’s a space above the file window that hides the top portion of the icons. Screenshot
@callosum
Ok, I see that. It’s the tab bar that’s partially showing for some reason. I’ll fix it. Thanks for the feedback.
All looks great, fixed the usual keyboard shortcut bug. I have another problem currently. This new button to select from a list of tabs probably preventing all tabs to show in a line. Basically now to select different tab I have to use the dropdown menu which is not very convenient.
@Ament
That’s a bug. If you resize the the window a bit, tab bar will become full sized. I’ll fix it for next build.
Looking good so far
Keyboard shortcuts seem back to normal. Only minor irritant is the bug that Ament reported. Awaiting the return of sessions.. and while you’re at it, just a little reminder: a lock/protect tab feature will rock big time!
Thanks as always,
m^e
Oh yeah! one more thing… I don’t know if anyone’s reported this earlier on – the right-click content menu in the files list in the right pane comes up ONLY if the click happens in the trailing blank space AFTER the list. So in order to say, create a new folder, if you have a bunch of files you’ve to scroll right to the end to be able to pull-up the menu. In Win Explorer the menu pops-up if you click on any blank space. Can the same be done in CE?
Thanks,
m^e
Maybe I miss something … but I can see only one tab and a kind of button, with two arrows, called “More Buttons” …
What do I have to do to see all opened tabs in the Tabs Toolbar?
Thank you!

I’ll make the background menu work just like it does in WE. Added in todo list (#318).

Marko, while you are at it, can you make sure that double click level up works as well? I meant to ask this, but it’s the same issue as m^e said: can’t open menus or double click to go level up anywhere but on a side or at the bottom.
Also, is it possible to have different tabs have different views (detail, thumbs etc)? Some folders with pictures I’d like to show in thumbs, but others in detail view and so on…
@Ament
Good point, I’ll make sure that dbl click works also.
Per folder support is not yet available, but it’s coming at some point.
Hi Marko !
I dont know what happend, but when I press right click in the group by CE not group my icons
Hey
CE on Vista: When I minimize / maximize other apps, I get that smooth aero animation of windows squeezing in and out of the taskbar. Somehow the same doesn’t happen for CE! When I minimize CE, I get a sort-of fade-out effect and upon maximization it just appears directly in a chunky manner.
Are any special API calls required to get the aero effect and can that be incorporated into CE?
Cheers,
m^e
@JL Henry
I’ll try to reproduce that bug.

There are some tricks that need to be done to make all bells and whistles work in Vista. I can’t remember if there were something for minimizing/maximizing. I’ll take a look.
