Things about basic usage of CubicExplorer.
Panels
Panels allow you to use unique and useful features like Filters, Bookmarks and Quickview. You can open panels by going to View > Panels, or you can use these hotkeys.
- Folder Panel = Ctrl+1
- Bookmarks Panel = Ctrl+2
- QuickView Panel = Ctrl+3
- Filters Panel = Ctrl+4
- Drop Stack = Ctrl+5
(There is a full list of hotkeys available at the Shortcuts page.)
It is possible to "stick" panels to the side of the window by dragging them to the desired location. You can also place multiple panels at the same location by dragging one panel onto another. When you perform this action, a tab bar is placed at the bottom of the panel which allows you to switch between the different panels.
Adding Bookmarks
To add bookmarks, you must first open the Bookmarks panel. This is accomplished by pressing Ctrl+2 or by clicking on View > Panels > Bookmarks.
There are several ways to add a bookmark. First, you open the folder you want to bookmark. Next, you can either right-click the bookmark panel and click "Add bookmark" in the submenu, or you can click the tab and drag it over to the Bookmarks panel.
You can also split your bookmarks into different categories. You can do this by right-clicking the Bookmarks panel and clicking "Add Category". After creating a category you can add bookmarks to the category by dragging the bookmark over it. You can also name the category by right-clicking the category and selecting the "Rename" option in the submenu.
Filters
Filters can be used to hide certain file types. To use filters, you must first open the Filters panel by pressing Ctrl+4 or by clicking on View > Panels > Filters. The filters panel contains a list of file types. To show only a certain file type, check the box next to the file type of your choice.
Quickview
Quickview allows you to view text, pictures and video files. To enable Quickview, press Ctrl+3 or click View > Panels > Quickview. To view a file in Quickview, you select the file.
When you select a video file, some info is displayed at the top of the panel. You play the video file by clicking the play icon on the bottom left of the panel. There is also a full-screen option and a volume bar on the bottom right of the panel. You can exit full-screen mode by double-clicking anywhere on screen.
